Grief Education
Grief touches every sector of our communities, from healthcare and long-term care to workplaces, schools, colleges, community organizations and professional services.
Loss affects individuals, families, caregivers, colleagues and the people professionals support every day. Yet many people receive very little education about grief or feel unsure about what to say and do when someone is grieving.
Through courses, workshops, presentations, professional mentorship and consultation, I provide practical grief education that helps build grief literacy, understanding and confidence in responding to loss.
Practical Grief Education
Grief education does not need to be complicated.
Understanding how grief can affect us emotionally, physically, cognitively, socially and professionally can make an enormous difference in how we respond to our own losses and support the people around us.
My education is grounded in more than a decade of direct grief-support experience, professional training, and lived experience of loss. The focus is practical: understanding what grief can look like, recognizing the many forms loss can take, improving the language we use around grief, and learning how to respond with greater confidence and compassion.
Who is Grief Education For?
Grief education can be adapted for healthcare and long-term care, colleges and schools, workplaces, first responders, funeral and end-of-life professionals, caregivers and helping professionals, community and non-profit organizations, peer-support programs, and organizations whose staff regularly encounter death, loss, trauma, or significant life change.
